When a 2000 lb bull decides to go on a rampage, rodeo clowns and bull fighters often appear to be playing with it. It is this distraction, that is often the only thing that allows a bull rider the opportunity to run out of the way of danger and hop the fence or get out the open gate.

Did you know that bull riding was named the "world's most dangerous sport" by the American Sports' Writers Association! Bull riding is the original "extreme sport".

Did you know that Dodge Rodeo Tour events in Southern Ontario always run rain or shine. The show must go on so bring your raincoat or umbrella if it looks like rain in your town!

Taking good care of the livestock is one of the most important things about having a rodeo. Rodeo contestants and contractors take great pride in their animals as they Are looked at as the ultimate athletes. Rodeo and the s.p.c.a. In ontario have worked together to ensure humane treatment of all animals.

Before he became Shorty Leggs, our little clown was a multiple time bull riding champion. In fact, he is the only cowboy to ever win the St. Tite rodeo in bull riding twice. Shorty is one of the finest bull riders that ontario has ever produced.
COLOURING PAGE NINE
Mutton Busting does not occur at all dodge rodeo tour events. It's an event that gives many children, under the age of eight an impression of rodeo that will last a lifetime. Like bull riding and other rough stock events, the children are placed aboard a sheep. They hold on around its neck and the chute is opened. They must hold on for 4 seconds and are closely watched and helped by the arena's bull fighters.

In barrel racing cowgirls race their horses into the arena to run a cloverleaf pattern around three barrels and out again. The goal is to have the fastest time without knocking over a barrel. The rider tries to guide her horse as tightly around each barrel as she can to shave milliseconds off her time. A fraction of a second is all it takes to win or lose a barrel race!

Did you know that shorty leggs can travel up to 20,000 kilometres over the course of one Dodge rodeo tour season in southern ontario. He is definitely a clown on the move!
